From time to time, we like to show you around some of Portugal's most charming hotels. This time, it's the DUO Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton, which has opened its doors in the Portuguese capital, next to the Mercado da Ribeira and the popular “Pink Street”. It has 75 rooms.
The accommodation aims to offer its guests a unique experience through its “duo” concept, which “harmoniously combines two distinct architectural styles — a traditional 19th-century building and a more modern construction”.
“Each room offers stunning views over the River Tagus and the charming typical houses of the city, featuring design elements with local inspiration. Features include headboards with hand-painted tile panels from the Viúva Lamego factory, with a design that pays homage to the tradition of Portuguese ceramics, showcasing drawings from the factory’s historical catalogue and reproductions of industrial tile motifs,” reads the statement.
The DUO Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton, is the first of three hotels, including a Hampton by Hilton and the first Canopy by Hilton hotel in Portugal, to open in the city, following a management agreement between Hilton and Feuring Asset Management GmbH announced last year.
