A major new four-star hotel is set to be built in Armação de Pêra, Algarve, following a €50 million investment. The development will provide accommodation for 500 guests and is expected to significantly enhance the town’s tourist appeal.

Silves City Council has granted planning permission for the hotel, which will be located in Vale do Olival. The project has received full approval under the Armação de Pêra Detailed Plan, as well as favourable endorsements from Turismo de Portugal and the Portuguese Environment Agency.

Construction is anticipated to take three years, although the developer aims to complete the project as swiftly as possible “to minimise any disruption to local residents and businesses,” the council confirmed.

The new hotel is projected to create around 100 jobs and stimulate the local economy, offering a substantial boost to Armação de Pêra’s tourism infrastructure. “This development will make the town even more attractive to visitors, enhancing and expanding the range of tourism services on offer,” the municipality added.

Facilities at the hotel will include a basement, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, additional services, and dedicated parking and technical areas.

The planning approval also includes the installation of a rainwater drainage system and the development of public sewage and drainage networks along Avenida Beira-Mar Poente, strengthening the area’s urban infrastructure in this high-tourism zone.

In addition, the developer has expressed interest in supporting the creation of a public car park in Vale do Olival, a municipal initiative designed to enhance the western seafront of Armação de Pêra.

Silves City Council has warned that temporary traffic diversions and changes to the location of the taxi rank will be in place during construction works.
