Hilton announced this August the opening of three new hotels in Portugal between 2025 and 2026, in Vilamoura (Algarve), Santiago do Cacém (Setúbal), and Lisbon, without revealing the investment value.
"Last year, the number of tourists reached historic records in Portugal, and with the expectation that demand will continue, we will keep investing in this truly attractive market," stated Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President of Development for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Hilton, in a press release.
Lusa enquired about the investment value, but the hotel group did not disclose this information.
The three new hotels will operate under the brands Canopy by Hilton, at Vilamoura Marina (Algarve), Tapestry Collection by Hilton, on the Costa de Santo André (Santiago do Cacém, Setúbal), and DoubleTree by Hilton, near Lisbon airport.
In the Algarve, the new hotel is the result of a management agreement with Arrow Global Group, and in Lisbon and Santiago do Cacém, the establishments will open under a franchising agreement with Grupo Mercan Properties.
Hilton currently has more than 20 hotels in operation and development in Portugal.
