A building in Herdade dos Salgados has been given new life, transforming into the latest Algarve tourist development. Named "Flamingos," it features 58 residential units and has recently entered the property market.
The spacious apartments range from studio (T0) to four-bedroom (T4) layouts, each with a private balcony and underground parking. Fourth-floor units boast breathtaking views of the sea and Salgados golf course fairways.
With completion set for spring 2025, all units will be sold fully equipped and furnished, with prices starting at €330,000. Owners will have the option to rent out their properties; however, rentals must be managed exclusively by the operating entity.

Alda Filipe, Regional Director of Kronos Homes, the brand promoting this new development in the Algarve, revealed that Flamingos has drawn significant interest from investors and buyers. “With 40% of the units reserved even before the official market launch, the response has been remarkable. Portuguese buyers are familiar with Salgados, while international clients love the location by the golf course and near the beach,” she noted in a press statement.
“With the quality of the refurbishment we’re undertaking, combined with the highly attractive location, we don’t expect the remaining apartments to be on the market for long,” she concluded.

The development's name, "Flamingos," is inspired by the natural surroundings. The Salgados Lagoon Nature Reserve is a crucial stopover for many migratory birds, including flamingos that visit to feed. The nearest beach stands out from other beaches around Albufeira, presenting a landscape of golden dunes rather than cliffs.
