This year’s edition of the World Golf Awards honoured Terras da Comporta Golf, a real estate project developed by Vanguard Properties, with three highly prestigious awards. The recognition further strengthens Portugal’s position as one of the leading golf destinations worldwide.
The Torre Golf Course, designed by acclaimed golfer and former world number one Sergio Garcia, was inaugurated recently and has already received the award for “World’s Best New Golf Course”. It stands out for its layout, the creative signature of the former player, and the way it blends seamlessly into the Terras da Comporta landscape.
In a statement released by Vanguard Properties, Terras da Comporta’s golf director, Rodrigo Ulrich, said that the award for the Torre Golf Course holds special significance: “We launched the course just over a month ago. Seeing the international community recognise it as the best new course in the world highlights the exceptional care Sergio Garcia put into the design and the dedication of the entire team on the ground.”
The Dunas Golf Course was also recognised, once again receiving the award for “Europe’s Best Golf Course”, as well as “World’s Most Sustainable Golf Course”, reflecting its commitment to rigorous environmental practices, responsible resource management and active preservation of local biodiversity.
Rodrigo Ulrich noted that all these awards “confirm a long-term vision that has always sought to unite sporting excellence, absolute respect for the landscape and a truly distinctive experience for players”. He also emphasised that this international recognition “is both a source of pride and a responsibility”, adding that Terras da Comporta will “continue to raise the standards of Portuguese golf and strengthen Portugal’s position as a leading global destination”.
The accolades received at the World Golf Awards reinforce Terras da Comporta’s position as one of the most ambitious and award-winning projects of the new generation of European golf, standing out for its combination of sustainability, innovation and a growing presence on major international circuits.
