After an announcement earlier this year that IKEA would start selling solar panels in Portugal in partnership with the Spanish company Contigo Energía, it's now official and IKEA solar panels are already available to buy in Portugal. According to the Swedish giant, the SOLSTRÅLE solar panel solution (as the product is called) will enable Portuguese people and residents in Portugal to save up to 50% on their electricity bills and minimise carbon emissions into the atmosphere. Prices start at 1,690 euros.
As the company explains in a press release, for the installation of this turnkey service, provided by Contigo Energía, homes can be connected to any energy sector company and the price includes everything, from simulation and estimation of costs and savings, as well as a technical visit, physical or virtual, to the purchase and installation of the latest generation of solar panels with the highest electrical safety standards, with no additional costs for guarantees and subscriptions.
How much are IKEA solar panels? For now, IKEA in offers different solar panel packages in Portugal depending on the size of the property you want to install solar panels on:
- House or small household, with limited consumption during the day: base price from €1,690 (VAT included);
- Medium-sized house or household, with some consumption during the day: base price from 3,400 euros (VAT included);
- House or larger household, well equipped, significant consumption during the day: base price from €4,590 (VAT included).
"This offer of renewable energy, allows us to inspire and help millions of people to contribute to a better, greener and cleaner world, as well as give the Portuguese the possibility to save on their household expenses and save more at the end of the year," says Ana Barbosa, IKEA Portugal's sustainability officer.
SOLSTRÅLE products have a 10-year warranty, as well as an additional installation guarantee of 5 years.
