Turismo do Algarve (Algarve Tourism) is returning to the Americas to strengthen the promotion of Portugal’s southernmost destination among Canadian and US markets. Following visits in early October to the Bahamas and Las Vegas to attend the luxury and business tourism fairs ILTM North America and IMEX America, Algarve Tourism is back in the Americas for further sector events.

Organised by Turismo de Portugal, the Algarve will take part in the “Travel Trade Marketplace Canada” Roadshow on 21, 22 and 23 October 2025, in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, respectively. The event, aimed at tour operators, travel agents, and other industry professionals, seeks to foster closer commercial relationships with the Canadian market and consolidate Portugal’s image as a competitive and diverse tourist destination.

Algarve Tourism’s primary focus at this event will be the Sun & Sea product, alongside gastronomy, nature, and local experiences. Highlighting these Algarve products aims to increase the region’s visibility and create new business opportunities with Canadian operators and agents.

The following week, from 26 to 29 October 2025, the region’s tourism body will head to Mexico to take part in TFest, an international event dedicated to luxury tourism on the Riviera Maya. TFest will bring together buyers from around the world, approximately 60% of whom are from the Americas.

Algarve Tourism already has around 60 individual meetings scheduled with carefully selected representatives of operators and ‘travel designers’ from the US and Canadian markets, providing a strategic opportunity to present the Algarve’s luxury offerings and reinforce the region’s positioning as a leading destination in this segment.

In a statement, André Gomes, President of Algarve Tourism, revealed that “the North American market has shown growing interest in authentic, sustainable, and culturally rich destinations.” He added, “This strong commitment to the Algarve’s presence in the Americas reflects our ambition to consolidate commercial relationships and strengthen the destination’s profile among audiences with high purchasing power and an interest in genuine, distinctive experiences.”
