
Anyone who visits Sintra is undoubtedly left awestruck in wonder. The romantic Portuguese village, close to Lisbon, is part of the 101 wonderful landscapes in the world included in a new book released by the largest travel guide publisher in the world, Lonely Planet, called "Wonders of the World". The publication highlights the "exotic gardens and shining palaces" of Sintra, such as that of Pena and Quinta da Regaleira.
The luxury edition edited on paper is already on sale in Portugal and aims to inspire travel lovers in 2020. Along with Sintra and among the 101 outstanding wonders of the world are the Great Wall of China, the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the aurora borealis, the pyramids of Egypt, or Mount Saint Michel in France and the Great Barrier Reef.
