Portugal is among the countries in Europe that invest the most in cryptocurrencies, according to a study by XTB. In addition, it is among the states with the highest rate of women who invest money in this type of product. Ethereum leads the transactions, followed by Bitcoin. The XTB study, cited by Jornal de Negócios, and which approached more than 300,000 people across Europe, concluded that in Portugal 36.3% of investors using the platform invest their money in cryptocurrencies. The country appears in third place in the table, behind the Czech Republic (41.2%) and Spain (37.7%).

In addition, the analysis reveals that in Portugal, 10.5% of investors using this platform are women. The country with the highest percentage of women investing in these products is Romania (12.6%).

Overall, countries with the lowest percentage of investors in cryptocurrencies are Slovakia (5.8%), Italy (15.2%) and France (26.1%). The report also reveals that the typical cryptocurrency investor is a 34-year-old male who makes, on average, 5 transactions per year.
