Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly selling his newly built luxury mansion in Cascais, Portugal, just weeks after completing construction. The football superstar and his partner Georgina Rodríguez have decided to list the property for €35 million after discovering that the home does not offer the level of privacy they expected.
The mansion, located in the prestigious Quinta da Marinha area, was designed to become the family’s main residence once Ronaldo retires from professional football. However, the couple now appear ready to move on from the project altogether.
A luxury home with unexpected privacy issues
After nearly three years of construction, the property was finally completed. Yet, shortly afterwards, the couple reportedly realised that neighbouring homes have a direct view of the residence, compromising their privacy.
Reports in the Spanish newspaper "Marca" suggest that Ronaldo attempted to purchase nearby plots of land to create more seclusion for his family. When the owners refused to sell, the lack of alternatives seems to have pushed the footballer towards placing the mansion on the market.
A €35 million investment
The asking price matches what the couple are said to have invested in the project: €35 million. This is significantly higher than the original estimated budget of €19.7 million, which increased due to changes and unforeseen circumstances during construction.
Despite the price tag, the property sits firmly in the top tier of Portugal’s luxury real estate market.
Inside Cristiano Ronaldo’s Cascais mansion
Set on a 12,000-square-metre plot, the mansion offers:
- Eight spacious bedrooms
- An infinity swimming pool
- A private cinema room
- An underground garage prepared for Ronaldo’s luxury car collection
The design combines modern architecture with high-end finishes, aiming to deliver both comfort and exclusivity.
Plans change for the Ronaldo family
The Cascais mansion was meant to be the family base once Ronaldo ended his time at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. However, with privacy now a major concern, those plans appear to have shifted.
For now, the football icon seems ready to part ways with one of the most ambitious property projects of his career — proving that even a €35 million mansion isn’t always the perfect fit.
