The air-conditioned 'suites' of the "Hotel do Cão" are individual and have a surface area of 10m2 with indoor and outdoor areas. The hotel also offers veterinary nursing, transport, training, dog-walking, 24-hour surveillance and the outdoor spaces with grassy parks are one of its selling points. In addition, it has the only private beach for dogs in Portugal in a tropical environment.
The private beach for dogs can also be used by those who are not staying - it is a space where dogs swim, play and enjoy physical exercise, in the company of the team of handlers. "Our aim was to humanise the hotel, because more and more people see their animals as members of the family," says the general director of the accommodation, Miguel Maia Costa, quoted in a statement.
