NOS Alive 2026
9–11 July 2026 – Passeio Marítimo de Algés, Oeiras (Lisbon region)
Headliners include Foo Fighters, Florence + The Machine, Lorde, Twenty One Pilots and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, alongside Pixies, Wolf Alice and Zara Larsson.
Set beside the River Tagus just outside Lisbon, the festival is polished, international and easy to navigate. Expect a big indie and alternative crowd, good food stalls and late evenings with the Lisbon skyline glowing across the water.
Cool Jazz 2026
8–31 July 2026 – Cascais (Lisbon coast)
Artists at this festival include Gilberto Gil, Loyle Carner, Jamiroquai and Scissor Sisters, spread across multiple evenings in leafy venues around Cascais. It’s more relaxed than a typical camping festival, with seated concerts and open-air settings.
The crowd tends to skew slightly older, and it pairs nicely with evenings by the sea.
MEO Kalorama 2026
28–30 August 2026 – Parque da Bela Vista, Lisbon
Robbie Williams, Grace Jones and Ms Lauryn Hill headline in one of Lisbon’s main park venues. Kalorama blends mainstream pop with art installations and sustainability themes. It feels urban and polished, with easy metro access and a strong international turnout.
Festa do Avante! 2026
4–6 September 2026 – Seixal (Lisbon region)
Carolina Deslandes, Bombino, Aldina Duarte and 47 Soul are among the confirmed artists. Organised by the Portuguese Communist Party, the festival mixes concerts with cultural debates, food stands and international pavilions.
It’s less about luxury staging and more about community atmosphere, stretching across a large riverside site south of Lisbon.
Vilar de Mouros
18–22 August 2026 – Vilar de Mouros, Caminha (north Portugal)
Yungblud and Kasabian lead the line-up at Portugal’s oldest rock festival. Set near the Spanish border in a rural riverside location, it keeps a laid-back, nostalgic feel despite big-name acts.
Expect guitars, beer tents and a crowd that mixes younger fans with long-time festival regulars.
Vodafone Paredes de Coura Festival 2026
12–15 August 2026 – Praia Fluvial do Taboão, northern Portugal
Kneecap, Bloc Party, Wet Leg, Thundercat, Benjamin Clementine and Hermanos Gutiérrez are confirmed. The festival sits beside a river beach in a natural amphitheatre, surrounded by forest.
It’s indie-focused, friendly and slightly off the mainstream radar, with camping that feels more communal than chaotic.
SonicBlast 2026
6–8 August 2026 – Praia da Duna do Caldeirão, northern Portugal
This beachfront festival leans into stoner rock, psychedelic and doom. Free camping and a compact site give it a close-knit, alternative feel. It’s smaller than the headline Lisbon festivals, but very committed to its niche.
Neopop Festival 2026
6–8 August 2026 – Viana do Castelo (north Portugal)
Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026, Neopop remains one of Portugal’s strongest electronic music festivals. The setting of this festival is an industrial waterfront space near the Atlantic, giving it a raw edge.
The focus is firmly on techno and underground electronic sounds, drawing an international club crowd.
Afro Nation 2026
3–5 July 2026 – Praia da Rocha, Portimão (Algarve)
Wizkid, Asake, Burna Boy and Tyla top the bill at what’s billed as the world’s biggest Afrobeats festival. It takes place directly on the beach, with stages set against golden cliffs and Atlantic views.
The vibe is high-energy and global, with plenty of pool parties and club nights around Portimão during the same weekend.
