What are the most exclusive holiday destinations in Europe? The island of Madeira is one of them, according to the European Best Destinations platform, which recently published the 10 destinations in Europe that offer the best hotels, restaurants and activities. Let's find out which destinations stand out for luxury travel.

Marbella is a well known small town in southern Spain and it is no surprise that it takes first place in this ranking of the most exclusive destinations in Europe. Why? Because of its luxury boutiques, its 14 golf courses and the Puerto Banús neighbourhood, an area which isn't lacking in exclusive shops and restaurants. 

On a trip to Marbella, don't forget to also head to Marbella old town where you'll be able to spend the afternoon in its bars and terraces trying out the local gastronomy. This includes traditional Andalusian tapas and fried fish dishes, not to mention the 3 Michelin star restaurants in the town.
