Quinta do Lago has just put the final plot up for sale in this luxury Algarve resort, following its original plan established over five decades ago. North Grove, consisting of 13 plots, is situated in the most sought-after area of the resort, overlooking the iconic North golf course.
All plots are designated for the construction of private, detached two-storey villas, but there are no restrictions on architectural design, allowing owners to choose between traditional or contemporary styles. The plot sizes range from 1,495 to 1,688 square metres (m2), with construction areas of up to 20%, resulting in built areas of 299 to 338 m2, plus basement and roof. Each plot also includes an additional piece of land, functioning as an extension of the garden.
Appealing to a younger audience

According to Sean Moriarty, CEO of Quinta do Lago, the demographic of buyers at the resort is changing significantly. "We are now appealing to a much younger audience – with an interest in sustainability and a desire to live an active lifestyle. Our main markets are still the UK and Ireland, but many national buyers are now purchasing properties here, and we are also seeing an increase in demand from the USA. The Campus, the resort’s multi-sport facility, has also contributed to this shift," he explains.
Sean Moriarty adds that the launch of North Grove "follows significant demand for untouched plots" in the resort, with many people waiting for this moment since they missed out on the San Lorenzo North plots in 2019. Despite "ongoing demand," the release of plots is always done gradually, in accordance with the master plan, allowing the resort to "preserve the natural environment."
According to Moriarty, "North Grove will appeal to both developers and buyers of primary and secondary residences – as they will have full autonomy to build and design their own luxury property in one of the most sought-after regions in Europe. Each untouched plot can be entirely tailored to the buyer's lifestyle and will be surrounded by natural beauty, with all the resort's amenities within easy reach."
The CEO of Quinta do Lago also reveals, in a statement, that over the past decade more than "€60 million has been invested in the resort." "Along with the launch of The Campus, The Magnolia Hotel, and UMAMI Restaurant, we are constantly updating our current offerings – with the most recent renovations taking place at our lakeside seafood restaurant Casa do Lago, our famous South golf course, Gigi's Bar, and our Clubhouse. In 2023, we also opened two new indoor padel courts at The Campus and completed the refurbishments of our oldest, traditionally Portuguese restaurant, Casa Velha. This year, we are also expecting the launch of our new Reformer Pilates studio," he concludes.
North Grove will be sold exclusively by Quinta do Lago Real Estate.
Luxury and sustainability spanning over 50 years

Founded in 1972, Quinta do Lago is considered one of Europe’s most prestigious residential and golf resorts. The original plan distributed properties across 21 areas, while always preserving the surrounding region and natural beauty, through careful building restrictions, limited to just 9% across 2,000 hectares of the Ria Formosa Natural Park.
While Quinta do Lago boasts a variety of luxury homes with exclusive amenities, it remains environmentally focused and sustainable, continuing to be a low-density area.
