The city of Porto is set to welcome a new five-storey residential development in one of its most prestigious areas: Boavista. The project will comprise 24 luxury apartments, ranging from one to four bedrooms, including T1, T2, T2 Duplex, T3 and T4 layouts, with prices starting at €470,000.

Art House Boavista is expected to be completed by the end of the first half of 2025 and aims to offer future residents a cosmopolitan and sophisticated lifestyle, blending modernity with comfort. All apartments include parking and access to exclusive amenities such as a lounge, wine room, library, cinema room, gym, coworking space and a children’s room.

This development is being built on the site that once housed the first BPI headquarters in Porto — the first private bank established in Portugal after the Carnation Revolution of 25 April 1974.

The finishes have been carefully selected to ensure harmony, elegance, and luxury in a development that stands out primarily for its strategic location. In Boavista, residents can enjoy a wide range of shops, services, public transport, restaurants, and cafés. It is also home to Mercado Bom Sucesso, Praça de Mouzinho de Albuquerque, Casa da Música, the Porto Botanical Garden, the University of Porto’s Museum of Natural History and Science, and the Estádio do Bessa Século XXI.

Beatriz Rubio, CEO of RE/MAX Collection, the estate agency marketing Art House Boavista, describes the development as “for those who refuse to give up a cosmopolitan lifestyle but seek the exclusivity that only a building with just 24 apartments can offer.”

“It’s like living in the city with all the comfort and amenities for an active social life filled with wellbeing and enjoyment, yet away from the usual hustle and bustle that often comes with a home right in central Porto. The luxury finishes, design, and all the exclusive amenities, alongside proximity to quality schools, the university, and leisure spots, make this a unique development in Porto,” adds Ms Rubio.

The project also features a commitment to renowned names spanning from art to interior design

Another key highlight of Art House Boavista lies precisely in the name of the development. Art plays a significant role in the project. For this reason, the artist Jotape was chosen to create the artworks. Born in Brazil and sharing his success between Rio de Janeiro, Milan, and Miami, Jotape is renowned for the spontaneity of his pieces, created using colour and resin, as well as for his abstract paintings with pop effects.

The architectural design is signed by architect Rosário Rodrigues, founding partner of the Ferreira de Almeida Architects studio, whose portfolio includes projects in Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, and Colombia. Notable works in Porto include Torre das Antas, the Trindade Building, the conversion of Mercado do Bom Sucesso, the rehabilitation of Quarteirão das Cardosas, Super Bock Arena, and the Mercure Porto Centro Aliados Hotel, among many others.

Last but not least, the interior design is by Carla Guilhem. Initially trained in architecture in São Paulo, Brazil, she later graduated in Interior Design from the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Madrid. She has worked on projects across Europe, the United States, and Brazil. Carla Guilhem was awarded the Best Yacht Interior prize at the 2023 Boat International Superyacht Design & Innovation Awards.
