Summer is just around the corner and Portugal's good weather is making us want to take a dip. For those in search of an exciting day out in Portugal, we've got just the thing, as Portugal's largest wave pool reopens on 1st June 2023. That means there's less than a month to go before the famous Praia das Rocas, in Castanheira de Pêra, opens its doors. From June 1st 2023, it will be possible to visit and spend the day in what is known as the largest wave pool in Portugal.

Praia Fluvial das Rocas, which opened in 2005, is located on a lake which is almost one kilometre long. An island in the centre of the beach, a 2,100m2 wave pool, a reservoir and a bridge are some of the attractions for those who want to have a different experience and make the best of weekends, holidays or days of rest in Portugal.

With family or friends, you can also enjoy a rowboat or pedal boat trip, slide, climb or abseil and stay overnight in one of the 6 bungalows lined up on the edge of the lagoon.

For this season, Praia das Rocas expects to receive at least 80,000 visitors. Tickets can be purchased online, and the 2023 price list is available here.
