The Verdelago luxury resort in the Algarve opened its doors in the summer of 2023. But there are still more than 100 houses to finish and a hotel to build, which is why new contracts have recently been signed with three construction companies.
The Verdelago Resort, located between Praia Verde and Altura, has already opened its doors, but is not yet completely finished. It was precisely in order to make progress with the missing buildings that three new construction contracts were signed, according to a statement sent to the press:
- Special finishes and installations for 56 flats located on plots 12, 32 and 47 will be carried out by Teixeira Duarte;
- Finishing and special installations of 54 new townhouses/apartments, which make up lots 21, 22, 23, 29 and 30, have been awarded to San José;
- The earthworks, retaining walls, foundations and structure for the Hotel do Verdelago were awarded to 3Jb Construções.
This means that the next steps in the construction of this luxury and sustainable development in the Algarve will involve finishing more than 100 houses and preparing the land where the Hotel do Verdelago will be built. Alongside this, there are also plans to build a "mini-resort" to accommodate workers, with an investment of around 9 million euros, to deal with the housing shortage that complicates hiring people.
The Verdelago Resort is a tourist-residential development made up of luxury flats and townhouses with direct access to the beach via walkways. It has 86 hectares of land, of which only 8.7 per cent is occupied by buildings designed by Saraiva + Associados. Of these, 70 hectares are green and include a 42-hectare Green Recreation and Leisure Park, a 24-hectare seafront nature reserve, areas for environmental interpretation, conservation and habitat promotion and a 2-hectare lake.
