Every Wednesday we open the doors of a charming hotel. And this time we plunged into the heart of Lisbon to discover the Convent Square Hotel Vignette Collection. This is a luxury urban retreat that combines the historic elements of the Convento de São Domingos, which dates back to the 13th century, with contemporary decor inspired by its history.
The new PHC - Hotels unit, result of the refurbishment of Convento de São Paulo Domingos, a historic building commissioned by King Domingos Sancho II, whose origins date back to 1242, has 121 rooms and "celebrates Lisbon's historical and cultural heritage", inviting its guests to "discover the mysteries of the city through a unique concept, inspired by the influence of the Dominican Order".

Built around the majestic cloister, the Convent “returns to the city this former Dominican convent, a heritage site with eight centuries of history. It is focused on the reconstruction and preservation of the site's authenticity, with a view to enhancing Lisbon's historical and cultural heritage," the company said in a statement.
The open-air cloister is one of the hotel's "jewels", where century-old olive trees, a fireplace and armchairs create the perfect setting for a peaceful and relaxed stay. The Sala do Capítulo features the signature cuisine of Chef Victor Sobral, a restaurant that seeks to "honour the authenticity" of Portuguese cuisine.
