The new digital counter is designed to improve contact with Social Security and allows citizens and companies to interact interactively with Social Security. It is a service that is always available and can be accessed from a computer, tablet or smartphone.
It's called e-Clic and it's the new digital channel for when you need to contact Social Security. It's through e-Clic that you can register your contact details, monitor the processing of your requests and consult all the requests that have been sent.
This digital support does not allow you to contact an assistant or make appointments.
E-Clic online: how does it work?
To use e-Clic all you need is access to Segurança Social Direta (SSD). Once you've logged in, in the top menu on the right-hand side, you'll find a section called "Profile" and by clicking on it, simply choose the option "e-Clic - contacts".
Once inside e-Clic, you'll find various topics for clarification on a wide range of Social Security (SS) issues and you can also fill in a form to get any further clarification you may need. The main aim is to facilitate communication between citizens/companies and social security itself, bringing messages together in a single channel and preventing them from being dispersed.
What are the advantages of the new digital counter?
The new digital desk will make it possible to record and track messages or requests for information sent to the SS. You can ask, clarify or report any situation on any topic that is directly related to and dealt with by this organisation.
Within the category of topics, you can deal with issues related to unemployment benefit, for example, by simply ticking the topic that best fits, entering the subject and reason, attaching documents (if necessary) and submitting the request. At the end, you'll receive thereference of the request, which will allow you to follow its status and consult responses to it.
Later this month it will be possible to interrupt sick leave in advance, without having to go to a face-to-face service. Next year, the family allowance will be allocated automatically.
The new digital counter is the result of Social Security's digital transition programme, an investment of 200 million euros from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and also aims to eliminate bureaucracy and increase the effectiveness of protection.
