Buying a house in the most expensive street in Portugal in 2020 costs, on average, 2,743,000 euros, slightly lower than last year's average price for a luxury home on Portugal's most expensive streets. This is the amount requested by property owners on the exclusive Avenida Brasil, located in Cascais. The top 10 in the ranking of the most expensive streets to buy a house is dominated by properties in the Lisbon district, according to a study by the idealista, the real estate marketplace in Portugal.
Completing the podium of this luxury ranking in Portugal are Avenida Marginal, in the parish of Oeiras and São Julião da Barra - Paço de Arcos - Caxias, with an average price of 2,670,084 euros, and Rua da Misericórdia, in Lisbon (2,609,893 euros).
The fourth address with the most exclusive prices when buying a house in Portugal is located in the exclusive urbanisation of Vale do Lobo in Almancil, located in the district of Faro in the Algarve (2.476.245 euros). Next in the table are Rua Cravos, located in Cascais (2.239.944 euros), and Rua da Junqueira, in Alcântara (Lisbon), where the average price of luxury properties is around 2.219.324 euros.
In seventh position is Avenida Dom Nuno Alvares Pereira, in Estoril, which has houses at an average price of 2,080,000 euros. The list of the 10 most expensive streets in Portugal is completed by Avenida Dom Vasco da Gama, in the Belém area of Lisbon (1,997,364 euros), Avenida Montevideu, in Porto, the Porto area making it's only appearance in the top 10 (1,988,000 euros), and Rua Melo e Sousa, in Estoril also in the Lisbon district (1,950,000 euros).
In order to carry out this study, idealista analysed the average absolute price of apartments and villas advertised in the same street. To avoid distortions in the data, only streets that had a minimum of 10 advertisements were considered, eliminating duplicate properties. This study only reveals the average street price, which does not mean that they are the most expensive properties in each market.
